about northstar science film festival
SCIENCE
Science is part of stories that impact our lives. It is part of how we view the world. And it is part of how we envision other possible worlds.
FILM
Film has the power to change how we view what is right, what is possible, and allows our imaginations to explore free of constraint. Films are our shared modern mythology as well as documenting our current affairs.
SCIENCE + FILM
Northstar Science Film Festival brings together these two forces that drive modernity. We explore the science that often otherwise goes unnoticed in story lines. But we don't only talk about what is, we revel in exploring what might be too because sometimes the boundaries of our knowledge are only constrained by the boundaries of our vision. If you are the curious type, we are here for you.

Northstar Science Film Festival is a 3 day festival held each autumn in the Twin Cities of Minnesota, USA. We feature films that range from big budget Hollywood narratives, to small documentary and animated shorts. We have drama, sci-fi, super hero films, rom-coms, and yes, even some traditional "science content". So come join us and others who love film and can't stop asking "why" after seeing a movie.
